spam link in profile page

Hi, i recently was attacked by some spam, they used to signup and put a link on the top of the content
(activity, discussion,comment above) of their profile page. so how do they do it? and is there any security risk?

    oh, you must be referring to the topic that was discussed yesterday :)
    sometimes its worth reading through the last two pages of discussion topics !

    do what?

    use the botstop plugin. you can also try the random question mod to it.

    I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.

    To answer the question specifically though. You can update your status on your profile page. This status shows up at the top of your profile and can contain links.
