Laserdisc is finally dead!

Yep, that's right, the ORIGINAL UN-SHITTY-FIED STAR WARS TRILOGY, ON DVD.
"Over the years, a truly countless number of fans have told us that they would love to see and own the original version that they remember experiencing in theaters," said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts and Senior Vice President of Lucasfilm Ltd. "We returned to the Lucasfilm Archives to search exhaustively for source material that could be presented on DVD. This is something that we're very excited to be able to give to fans in response to their continuing enthusiasm for Star Wars.
I swear, if this turns out to be a late april fools joke or something, I'm gonna drive to Skywalker Ranch, find George Lucas, and kick his fat bearded ass.

    Man, I do remember watching the last 3 in the trillogy on laser disc, it was something else when that big ass thing had to be flipped just to watch the other half of the movie.

    That's the perfect topic title. I'll be purchasing this as soon as it's out. I head that it's out for a limited time only from September the 12th. I hope that's not utter bollocks. I hate that limited availability thing.

    This just means that my original Star Wars laser disc and Panasonic player are either worth a lot...or worth nothing. *heh*

    This is normally the time when I'd step into the discussion to mention how George Lucas looks more and more like an Ewok as he gets older. But not this time, dudes. NOT THIS TIME.
