How do I make discussions public to non-logged in?

I've finally been able to upgrade vanilla from a very early install to the latest. When loading the forum, the default view is "no discussions found". Can I make that public in some way? (it used to be previously)

    @Ele I'm a newb as well, so I'm not sure but if you're in your dashboard unter roles&permissions you should have a guest account in which you set the view check for all the categories you like to be viewed by unregistered visitors.

    Don't you just have to allow to your guest account the view option?

    I don't see any Guest role or settings anywhere...

    You're right; it was the "Unauthenticated" role. The checkbox is way down the page. Looks like it's working now. Thanks!
