Mark all inbox messages as read?
A while ago I updated the site (2.1) and was left with the notification area saying I had 30 unread messages (I have read them all).
Users have also flagged this issue up.
Is it possible to mark all messages as read without actually opening each and every one?

you have to do a little digging for that, but I hope it's possible for you with an SQL query.
For starters, you have to look in the translation files (locale) for the text that is showing when you see 'you have 30 unread messages'.
Forget about that number, but when it says 'unread messages', look in those locale files for the text 'unread messages'. Get back to this thread when you've found that text.
Prepare to look inside the source files of Vanilla. Are you on Windows or on Linux?

The text isn't the problem (I know what you're aiming at) - it's the notification that there are messages - in my case every one in my inbox. I'd read them all. It says they are all there unread and unless I re-read them all... they'll remain.
My users have that problem, hence how I could purge the database of "unread" direct messages and interactions would be appreciated.
Id like to know this too.
