Feedback on my new theme

edited October 2012 in General Banter

Made a sort of Windows 8 Metro-inspired theme with a color changer, looking for feedback and/or people who want to buy it :P

Sorry to say, theme is very plain. There is no resemblance of Metro UI.

Perhaps, you should put more boxes and colors.

If you are selling it, its your decision. But I would recommend making it free for some time so users can test it, give you feedback and when you have perfect design, then sell it.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

  • Well that's what Metro is all about it seems :P

Anyway, the demo I linked to is what was the free thing people can test, but since no one has bought it (dangit) I think I'm just going to upload it here and be done with it.

  • While I like what you did with the roll over effects and the colour switcher, I think Metro is more than that.

  • @kasperisager theme was really nice... would be awesome if someone put something like that up here.

Wasn't asking for feedback on somebody else's theme.

  • lol... sorry about that. If it's any consolation, I did liked your theme as well. Downloaded it and played with it about an hour ago.

  • Thanks :)

I personally really like the cleanliness of the theme, especially when it comes to the typography - nice work! The essence of the Metro design language is not fancy colors and modern block elements but typography. Metro is a language derived from the Swiss Style (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Typographic_Style) and as such, cleanliness and readability is key to anything that follows the Metro design principles. Here's a suggestion from me to you though: Get rid of the thick borders and expand upon your existing idea about big and readable typography. Less is more and what you've done so far really looks promising. You might also want to take a look at this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh700394.aspx

Good work so far and keep it up!
