Whisper = PM?

I see this whole whisper thing, however does it function like a PM? Can you only whisper something to someone and NOT post it to the discussions?

    You can whisper a whole discussion to some if you wish or just one message within an already existing discussion.

    No, and it won't be a feature in 1.0 either. Mark says that making multiple person whispers require too many queries to justify it (for now anyways).

    just so you know, if you read the documentation, there's a ton of questions to answers like these. its a great resource.

    See, that's a problem with whispers, it's non-standard text that can confuse users. Let's face it - no forum users are gonna read Vanilla documentation.

    I agree, but there is a (however small) learning curve that comes with them.

    yes i know i could have RTFM but to be honest... i was in a rush to give a member an answer... i have the manual sitting on my pc at work...

    I've tested whispers with few users from my forum and they loved it. When someone is advanced enough to need the PM, she/he would be also smart enough to figure out what whispering is.
