Wordpress 3.4.2, Vanilla Forums Plugin 1.1.14 and Vanilla 2.0.18.4

Hello community,

First of all I would like to show my appreciation for this excellent forum.

Second, I would really like to get it to work the way I want it to. ;)

My setup is:

Wordpress 3.4.2 with Vanilla Forums Plugin 1.1.14.
Vanilla 2.0.18.4 (with users and posts imported from a SMF 1.x forum), Vanilla Plugins: jsConnect and embed Vanilla.

My problem is that I cant get the SSO feature to work, if I try to sign in with jsConnect I come to the Wordpress login page and can log in OK but it doesnt sign me in on the forum. I have followed instructions in the blog to set up both the jsConnect options in Vanilla and the Vanilla Forums plugin in Wordpress. Double-checked. Triple-checked.

Is there anyone out there who has experienced the same problem? It seems that many people are using a third-party plugin in Wordpress called WP Vanilla Connect which I tried, and even if it seems to work OK I would rather get the "official" solution to work.
