Problem with automatic log-out

Hi, I participate in a German Inkscape forum, powered by Vanilla, at http://inkscape-forum.de. We experience regular log-outs while having the browser (and hence the session, I take it?) still open. That's very frustrating, the auto log-in feature does not work in that forum (running v 0.9.2.2) either. Is there some obvious configuration error on the admin's part? The Cookie says its valid during the (browser ?) session, so shouldn't it only log you out when the browser got closed?

There were some stupid problems with cookies pre Vanilla 1. They have been resolved in the new version, but it's not publicly released yet. There were things that could be done to fix the cookie problem, but I can't remember what they are now (Sorry - I've been working with the new code for too long). Anyone else care to shed some light?
