Sub-domain set up on seperate site
Hi,
Due to server set up and a possible move to a new domain I'm wondering if it's possible to install Vanilla Forums on a separate domain yet have its content display on another site.
e.g. "example.com/blog" has vanilla forums on separate pages displaying forum info. While the actual vanilla install is located at "forum.sample.com"
Is this possible? And would there be any issues?

yes but the url would be the site where vanilla is installed in. The domain has to be hosted somewhere. In other words it does not matter what the domain name is it matters where it is hosted from.
example: I got Domainx from google or any other domain seller. I get a host to serve my content. I point the name servers from where I got my Domainx to my host. Now the Domainx knows where it belongs. Then I add content to the website under that Domainx example I add a Vanilla Forum. Because I installed the application for the Forum in the server of my host, then the name of the path to every file goes under that server root address.
It does not matter if you do not have a Domain name.
The links will be associated to whatever the name of the host you use. Even if it is a subdomain the subdomain needs to be in the same root directory of the hosting server. What you want is to be able to embed the forum anywhere you go right? You still need somewhere to host it. To install it. That will always be the originating url for the forum. Unless you use redirects. and that is not very advisable....good luck
