Embed a forum category?

Just wondering if anyone could share how to embed a forum category rather than the whole forum on a page.
Eg. example.com/sailing.html would have the "vanilla forum sailing category" displayed. Then on another page I could have example.com/racing.html and have the "Vanilla racing category" only showing up.
I would then have forums.example.com showing all categories.
Any help here would be much appreciated!

Which enables a small script change which then changes the url slightly. example.com/racing#/categories/racing
Anyone know if this would effect SEO adversely?
