What version of MySQL and PHP and Vanilla are you using? Do you have whispers enabled in settings / application settings?
  • mysql is v 3.23 and php 4.4.2 whispers is set to: $Configuration['ENABLE_WHISPERS'] = '1'; in settings.php and in application settings Whispers is also enabled.

Can I get an account on your forum to see? You can whisper the url to me if you want it private.

ok i reuploaded the files from the latest svn just now and I will let you know.

i uploaded the files and the problem still exists. no whispers can be seen.
  • well it seems that they can send whispers and i can see them, they just cannot see them
  • This has to be one of the oddest sounding problems to date.
  • well yeah- between this and when friendly URLs are enabled the edit function is broken. anyone have any idea's?

Well, on the plus side, that code doesn't appear at the top of the screen anymore.

I've registered and I'll have a look inside when you approve me.

This very much seems like a strange server configuration issue - especially the friendly urls problem.
  • I'm gonna take a blind stab in the dark and say that there's some really odd extension running which has become a monkey-wrench. Friendly url's just being mod_rewrite could be choking on one of it's own rules if there are others present beyond the scope of Vanilla itself. That's just my 2 cents though.
  • well, i have disabled all extensions and gave it a shot too. still same probs.
  • OK, so that rules out extensions as a possible culprit.
  • well mark sent me one and i was able to see it, however i dont think he will be able to see the one i sent him... so we shall see.
