Extended Text Formatter Extension Problems

edited May 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Two issues with the Extended Text Formatter add-on that I wanted to jot down for future reference. 1) URL's which include commas in them get broken (at least in my install). Try this as an example: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,19043507-38198,00.html (hm, seems to work normally here!) 2) When you activate either the BBcode of HTML formatter extensions, and paste in a regular URL and then mix in some code (either HTML or BBcode) into the same post, the Extended Text Formatter doesn't seem to function at all. Anybody know how to fix either or both of these issues?

i downloaded the most recent version from the add-on directory, which appears to be 1.1 based on the description. but the file itself stil has 1.0 in the header text. and when i uploaded and activated this version i had the same problems as above. thanks for your help!

the extended text formatter is only activated when you post in Text mode or when you're in text-only mode.
otherwise links are handled by the HtmlFormatter or BBCode extensions. Does it work when you post in text mode?

Yes, it works then. I guess I was expecting it to work no matter what, like it does in the PunBB software I used to use. I want people to be able to paste in a link and have it auto-formatted regardless. If anybody has or creates an add-on that functions like that, please let me know.

you could talk to SirNot (who made HtmlFormatter) and whoever made the bbcode extension, and ask then to fix/add that feature, then it would work all the time.
