How to edit the Config.php file? (Como editar el archivo Config.php)?

I can not change the contents of this file because the permissions will not let me, I got to 777 and returns to its prior permission. I can manually edit the file.
I have read on other sites and suggest that this is because the Vanilla directametne install on the host that is Linux and the issue of permits is more strict.
Download the file, edit it locally and uploading it again I get this message:

You keep calling it config.sys in other discussions, but you mean config.php

Talk to your host provider, about how to do it properly This is not a vanilla issue per se. It is a problem with your host provider and the ownership of the file and your ability to set permissions. re-installing won't help - you will have the same problem again down the road. next time you try to modify it.

Sobre hablar con mi hosting... en mi hosting tengo 6 dominios con diferentes cms y el foro SMF y en todos puedo editar sus archivos, incluso también puedo editar cualquier otro archivo php o css de Vanilla, con el unico que no puedo es con el config.php, no creo que el host restrinja un solo archivo. @YAcosta El permiso anterior es 775 ? de todos modos si es posible editar el arhivo.

Tiene que bajarlo a su computadora, cuando baja se convierte en config.php.html esto lo tiene que quitar después de editar usando algo como textedit o notepad.
Lo guarda como config.php.
Ya que edito lo sube de nuevo por ftp y pone over-write/sobre-escribir. Esto debe de funcionar. Guarde el original por si no funciona su edición.
Le recomiendo FileZilla.app para uso ftp hay para todos los sistemas.

Hola vrijvlinder .
Te comento que fue eso exactamente lo que hice. Lo baje (no se convirtió en config.php.html ya que siguió siendo config.php), lo edite con Notepad++ y lo grabe, verifique que la extensión seguía siendo .php, luego de eso usando filezilla lo subi y sobreescribi, cargue la web y me sigue saliendo la advertencia que muestro en la foto. La web sigue funcionando con normalidad pero me sale ese mensaje. ¿Que podra ser?

P.D: Ya estoy haciendo la web del otro post.

Me temo que lo único que puede ser es los permisos no quieren quedarse. Eso ya es problema que el host que usas te tiene que ayudar a resolver. En algunas veces si no sirve el sobre-escribir entonces borrar el original desde ftp y subir el nuevo.
También hay que asegurarse que los permisos también estén en el fichero no solo el archivo. Osea hay dos lugares que se tiene que cambiar los permisos, en el directorio y en archivo. El permiso que yo tengo para el directorio es 755 y no tengo problemas de editar.

Si nada de esto funciona ponte en contacto con tu compañía host y pedir ayuda para cambiar los permisos. Es lo único que puede evitar editar. Así se ven mis permisos para el directorio.

Gracias. Como comente en el post anterior se resolvio aplicando los permisos al archivo que baje y subi de nuevo. Lo veia imposible que sea un tema para hablar con mi hosteador porque era el unico archivo que no se podria editar ya que en este host tengo 6 dominios con varios blog y foros y todos son editables y pues no me parecia que el host me restrinja un solo archivo. El truco era en lo que comentabas antes, bajar y subir el archivo pero me habia faltado ponerle los nuevos permisos.
