Hello
I have years, more than I want to admit , of experience in forums, and run a number of Vbulletin and Simple Machine sites. I recently was looking for an alternative and found Vanilla, which so far seems pretty simple, yet powerful. I have a question about themes, and banners. Please forgive me but have many of my questions may seem elementary, and am so embedded in other forum software, my habits may cloud some simple processes.
1. I've looked at some tutorials about adding and banner logo but haven't been able to find acceptable pixel sizes.
2. Themes. I'm looking for some forest/nature based themes and I've found a few that may work, but can't really find a step by step way to add a theme.
I appreciate any help and assistance that anyone may provide.
Thanks

Ok, I figured out the themes, just upload the folder after unzipping.. nice.. easy. thanks. Still looking for a good mountain, forest type theme. and my question about banners still is active... thanks
mountain forest? can you specify more ? like: brown with green, earth tones, tropical forest tones, snowy mountains forest , dark green, light green dark brown? I don't think there is a theme like that but one can be edited any way you want. Just look for one with a stable layout.
the banner...there is much on that topic too

Hi, thanks for replying. Well I'm building another site, santacruzmoutianscommunity.com , https://www.facebook.com/pages/Santa-Cruz-Mountains-Community/536816929662188
So looking for something like California, green, redwoods, sorta theme. I'm building something that supports the lifestyle and business in the area. I have years of experience building themes in Vbulletin and others, but this platform is new so was thinking of using it to build this new community.
You want tones like this? Just pick a theme with a layout you might like and then edit the various parts . The css is the same as with anywhere, body, header menu content foot,
and the parts in between.
I can help you just get the basics going...then post a link to the forum.

thanks, but:
Whoops, our bad...
The page you requested was not found, and we have a fine guess why.
If you typed the URL directly, please make sure the spelling is correct.
If you clicked on a link to get here, the link is outdated.
What can you do?
btw, I actually live near "big basin" as mentioned in the link
oh and also, the logo size requirements? thanks
depends on your theme. and if you want to modify it or not.
in other words, there is no logo size requirement.

@bposner Oh that is too bad, it was a good image how funny you actually live there !! lol I passed through once or twice.
You will see that Vanilla is much friendlier and simpler than the others you have used. And the results are fascinating.
