Have created a great vanilla forum but........
I have added the forum link to 3 of my websites but dont seem to get any visitors.

any ideas to create visitors?

Well, you need to ask yourself why people would bother to come to your forums.
When they get there, what do they find?
Terrific design is an asset to forums ,but content and relevance are, for me, the key.
Do they contain interesting content, not obviously available elsewhere?
Do they answer a need for the communities your websites are serving?
If you have regular users of your website, perhaps consider asking them to 'seed' the forums with relevant content and comments.
