Need help with a classic post layout for BitterSweet theme (2.1b)

I'm probably asking for a lot here, but would anyone be willing to help me out with some CSS? I basically want make the post layout look a bit more classic (vB style) with usernames and avatars displayed in a column to the left of the page.

Here's a quick and dirty mock-up of how I want it to look:

Now.. I'm not sure how to attach the CSS file for BitterSweet theme, but it can be downloaded from GitHub here. If you want, I can upload it somewhere else too. Or maybe just post the whole thing in this thread.

If it's too much work, no worries. I'm only asking because of my lacking CSS knowledge.

Any input will be greatly appreciated!
