brings back the late 70's computer state of affairs.....the trick with this is to find the right width to display the characters as you want but it's cool nonetheless
this op topic/thread went missing too , sorry to the OP this is how we make up for not knowing how the hell to solve your problem.....please refer to graphic about how often does it occur ? ....It could be intermittent :+) sort of like my attention span...
@present559 I would suggest the following course of action:
1. As @peregrine wrote, check the log to see if anyone deleted or hid the discussion.
2. If you can't find anything in the log, run a query on GDN_Discussion table. Since it was so popular, you can sort by views or comments, so it will be easier for you to find it.
3. If you still can't find the discussion anywhere, you could use a backup taken when the discussion was still visible. You could try restoring it on a test installation and compare the two databases. That might not give you an explanation of why it disappeared, but, with some elbow grease, you will be able to get the discussion back.

Poor OP is going to have to answer yes or no "did this answer your question" for all of the tangential comments here.
I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
