Dumb Question - Set home page as news/updates page?

Hey all,

I'd love to make the home/landing page of my forum be a news page updated solely by myself and other moderators. How can I do this with Vanilla?

    You code make your own page, and just do javascript requests to pull out new things and post them on your website.

    Is the news page generated by Vanilla or by some other program? Take a look at custom pages plugin, Candy and VanillaCMS, plugins like that. The only other thing I can think of is 'activity', but you really have to work around some things for that one.
