in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

I run a medium sized website that focuses on computer hardware reviews and I just implemented Vanilla 2.1. I would like to have a discussion started with every new post on my wordpress site, possibly with only the excerpt in the body...is this possible with an existing wordpress / vanilla plugin? The SSO stuff doesn't matter because my users are vanilla only and I'm not worried about comments matching on my wordpress site, so the vanilla forums plugin or vanilla connect don't really fit the bill.

I don't allow local user registration on my wordpress site and don't use comments, which is why I would like to host all discussions on my vanilla forum (isn't that what they're here for ?). I have a custom plugin that will create a link saying "Discuss this article in the forums...", I just need the discussion to be there.
