Developer Needed for simple commerce app using PayPal IPN

edited May 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Sorry for the super long title. I just wanted to be as clear as I could. I posted a while back, seeing if anyone had any simple ecommerce scripts that used PayPal to handle all the payments. There were a few suggestions, but none that I really liked or would be willing to use. So, I am asking here if anyone is willing to take on this project. I have no idea how much such an application would cost (I'll get to specifics in a moment), but I would like to see if there is any interest first, then we can negotiate a price. Requirements: While I will attempt to describe what I am after, it can be best summed up by looking at this site: http://skti.org/account.php If you create an account there, it takes your name, password and email address. Once you are in, it then shows you a list of software that they/he offers, and provides you with a link to download it. That order is then processed by PayPal, and, using the PayPal IPN, a message is sent back to the server changing the status of the order. When the payment has cleared, and the server informed, an email is sent to the customer, telling them a link to the download is in their account page on the website. That is what I need. if anyone is interested, could you please let me know (whisper me if you want to talk money or something, or you can email me: nathan@skoap.com [I get enough spam already. I am not concerned about this!]). I appreciate your time.

  • I didn't specify the laguages... sorry. PHP and MySQL.
  • Nathan, someone who could tell you more about how it works — and probably realise it too — is Robert Sable (aka wilshire on the textpattern forums). He made a site that does just that using textpattern as CMS:
    • Post on "Favourable Designs" on the textpattern forum
    • Portfolio entry
  • Thanks for that Jakob. Those services seem very heavily tied with TextPattern though. I was/ am looking for a more indepentent application/ script.

after contacting Robert Sable and others, what was the selected ecommerce script that used PayPal to handle all the payments ?
