I can't tell the difference from embed forums :(
Hey Guys, I'm new here. I am looking to start a new blog/forum site and stumbled upon vanilla forums. I have done research the past couple of days but still can not tell the difference between an embed forum vs "standalone". I was looking at some the feature vanilla sites and they look amazing (soompi and 9to5). I believe they are using wordpress and then adding vanilla forum to it. Is this then considered embed? Please see forum here: http://forums.soompi.com/
I apologize if i come off sounding like a nooobbbb. Thanks in advance.

Looks like soompi and 9to5Mac have created separate themes for WordPress and Vanilla that look the same, so their Vanilla forums aren't embedded and are standalone.
Add Pages to Vanilla with the Basic Pages app

What you can do is
Design your themes to match, for example, I made a theme to match a wordpress theme. GreenGlass is designed to match modern green theme from WP . So when visitors go from one to the other it is seamless transition.
I also embedded the forum in a wordpress page so people can have the option and still conserve the style as equal as possible.

@rocksalt13 Yes when you take the forum code and embed it somewhere else it is an embedded forum.
Standalone means it is independent. You are accessing the main forum when you go to the standalone.
You are accessing a remote version when embedded.

Got it thanks!! From what I understand I can integrate my wordpress/standalone vanilla forum by pointing a sub domain at it as well. Is this what this site is currently doing? http://bit.ly/HoGEdw
