Welcome to the Community! It has a great search feature, much better than last year.
Try it, you'll like it. There is also a documentation section. And an announcement section that is often overlooked. As well as a wiki.

Yes, you can have vanilla forums host your forum and you can get badges exactly like "Todd's". as well as reactions exactly like on this fourm But I know you know that already, because that question has been answered thousands of times and I'm sure you searched. R_J may not have experienced the question being asked on a daily basis, but to tell you the truth vrijvlinder and I have.
You can also get alot more features on the hosted forum. I highly recommend it.

You can also get a version with less features from the plugins area as linked above. I think the developer gave up adding features due to lack of donations. (edited this sentence).

But as an alternative there is also another badges plugin which seems to have lots of bells and whistles. I am going to suggest this one to you--- you will probably be much happier with the hosted version or this one down below by BusinessDad. He also has lots of other great plugins.
