Hello, I recently installed Vanilla (Version 2.0.18.8
) forum: http://soilfoodwebforum.com.
I tried various other popular software and settled on Vanilla since it had the cleanest feel.
However, google searches are not seeing the content or site.
What is required to make the site and content search engine aware?

Thanks for your help in advance

Give it time. Bots will eventually crawl through your entire site and follow any internal links.

  • Thank you both for your feedback. I was unware of Google Webmaster-Tools. I registered the site. Hopefully the bots will find it.

There is no quick fix to SEO, you just need to continuously improve your site, ensure there is good content that people would want and expect.

You need to take a look at you niche make sure you are offering somethign that people want and it is communicated well.

You might look at related sites, and ask them if they would write an article or mention in exchange for the same.

It is like opening up a restaurant, it is isn't a good fit for the market, it is not necessarily going to take off.

    grep is your friend.

  • Search for SEO tips and checklists. There are countless, but you will see congruencies and that's where to start. I like checklists more than prosa: http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/seo-articles/seo-checklist/
Also looking at "what not to do" can be helpful: http://www.smartarts.co.uk/blogs/seo-hall-of-shame
