Quote function idea?

A guy posted an image on the forum that he found funny because we posted at exactly the same time...

I automatically assumed he'd broken the forum (have seen things like that on other sites where the tables or divs screw up if some html syntax is wrong) but other people thought it was a fancy new quote feature.

Then it hit me, wouldn't it be sweet to have a quote function that worked like that ^ ? :)

    Yeah, I've no idea how hard it'd be to implement, I'm not saying it has to quote multiple people, but even if you could only quote one person in the style as above it'd look pretty sweet eh?

    I must say that I'm not a fan of the quote feature generally, not just the one on this board by Bergamot, I just don't like quote features because they often get abused, that however would look so sweet I couldn't help but love it!

    Yeah, that's a much nicer quote style than i've seen anywhere, but I'd prefer that you could enable or disable user icons it quoted text.

    It is normal text Krak, but it's ... I don't know how to explain it, but if I were to quote you now, it'd look identical to how that image is positioned, with your name instead of DJ Skippys and so on.

    Yeah! That's pretty much what I'm after! Would it be possible to do that as a quote system? :)

    Yeah! That would be cool! And quite easy, because it's more css + theme related rather then writing a new extension (there are a few quote extension out there already)

    Personally, I think that the quoting within quoting and any further quoting into it gets annoying as hell to read who said what. Then again, it's all how the end-user actually quotes people. I think removing the lines between the post in exchange for something to seperate the quote from posts would look nicer in the end without confusing anyone.

    Yeah, I don't know if quoting within quoting is ideal, maybe like the image posting above? Where it just lists each message in order.
