Upgraded Pre-release Vanilla, Not running latest version?

Ok. So I originally just kept my conf/ folder, deleted all other files, uploaded the latest 1.0 release. Everything works.. but when going to the Updates & reminders section it says I am running a pre-release. I broke down, deleted my conf/ folder, uploaded the one from the zip file, ran the upgrader.php and still no go it claims I am running the pre-release still. Any suggestions? Or is this thing busted?

It's on everyone's installation but it's not something to worry about, it's just a slight bug, you have the latest version.
