Doesn't work with traditional chocolate theme+plugin?

in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8

I'm using Version 2.0.18.9
with the Traditional Chocolate theme + Traditional plugin and it doesn't seem to work. It adds the button to the top of the forum but when I click on it, it only shows my "What's New" page (there are all discussions listet, read and unread ones).
Am I missing something or is this a bug?

    It does not work if the theme does not have the elements needed. It did work when tested with default theme and other themes I tested. That said....

    This plugin is no longer supported and

    I will ask for it to be removed since it is built in to vanilla 2.1b2.
