Are you talking about vanillaforums.org or your own site.
one suggestion would be to post the plugin version of signatures plugin you use and the version of vanilla you use.
another suggestion to help other users would be to go to the plugin in the add-ons section and re-ask your question. so it is associated withe the plugin.
when installing plugins - always look in the roles and permissions of dashboard to verify you have the correct permissions set for the role, especially if there are plugin specific permissions in the roles.
I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
Well thanks to you there will now be a clearly defined explanation for others to find .
Different forums use roles and permissions differently . Some feel that everyone should be allowed to have a signature , some only for trusted members. Other for no one but admin.
It is a matter of choice and fits for the community.
When you join a community you need to read up and learn and observe. Many questions get answered on their own by simply making observations.
People who have a certain rank are allowed certain things. So the deduction would be that once you reach that rank , you get something like a permission to have a signature or title or whatever it is that the rank offers.

You need to have permissions granted to you to be able to use the signature.

you need to reach a certain level via points to change signature
(e.g. if someone clicks awesome by answering a question you get more points)
crystal ball should have clicked in.

What are the requirements to be able to set signature?
Thanks
You need to gain many points or be a relative of one of the admins.. (joke)
Points are given by others reacting , the heart or the eye icons when you hover over the post.

i don't know how many points. But you will know when you get enough points. Right now it is a moot point, since you don't have enough points.

I know there are rules about signature but most forum has them very clearly defined.
this is not most forums. This vanilla, that is why it is superior to other forums.
not this forum! as to prevent gaming the system.
sometimes "You've got accept things the way they are for your own well-being."

Thank you both for being helpful for someone new to this forum.
These are very helpful. Thanks
If anyone wants clarity I believe MVP is the minimum rank for a signature (although I have one from when permissions were different, I cannot edit it)
There was an error rendering this rich post.
@Tama
Yes, I guess I failed to mention that the rules of the game can change at any time without notice ... lol keeps us guessing I guess...
I think this happened to Shadowdare as well. Just Pm Lincoln to request he re-instates or allow you to edit it. You are already an MVP in my opinion
