Extension Requests (or help at least :p )

edited July 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I feel really bad requesting some extensions, but I would like to use Vanilla and the Lussumo Framework for a personal organiser application that I am about to re-launch.

I had previously built the system on Drupal, but ended up with a massive application and about 78 tables. It ran like a dog and I think this simple framework is much better solution for what I need.

Here is what I require.
- ToDo Lists
This is already done thanks to Jazzman.

- Personal Notes
A simple private piece of content. It would be good if the users could TAG the content, but that is an extra. Also, it would be nice if they could invite people to see the content on a per-user basis (similar to whispers)

- Personal Calendar
Title says it all. Each user would have a calendar. Does not have to be the classic calendar view, instead in the format similar to the discussion list in chronological order. Jazzmans little calendar/ date picker would be right at home here.

- Personal Bookmarks
Simple piece of content like the ToDo list, with links to internal/ external URL's. A description of the link would also be handy.

- Personal Address Book
home/ business address, names, phone numbers, relations (work, friend, family, etc.), email, website and so on and so forth.

If anyone can lend an hand on any of these points I would much appreciate it. I am going to try and do some of them myself (the bookmarks seems easy), but I don't think I have the expereince to do them all properly.

I don't know how I can repay you, but if you would like to contact me (nathan [at] skoap [dot] com), we might come to some arrangement if that is what you like.

Thanks for your time.

  • Well, the todo list and calendar seem to be covered, roughly. As for the personal notes, while you are waiting for someone to make a Notes extension with a pretty interface, you can create a category called Notes, and let users whisper things to themselves. I like the bookmarks idea, please keep us posted on that one. :)
  • If you do a quick search for "bookmarking php" there are loads of scripts already that you might be able to hack&paste as a starting point?
