looking for WoltlabBB converter

hi guys, just came across vanilla and ... well - I'm sold. I would love to use this instead of another system im running (www.woltlab.de) but the problem is that there's no way I can start out fresh. we're currently using woltlabBB 2.3.4 which is a quite famous board system in german speaking countries. I'd love to convert my users over to vanilla (basically, as long as I can keep users and threads I'm fine) and keep hosting that forum with vanilla. is there anyone interested in helping me? I'd even offer some $$$... the way I see it, apart from me, I bet there are more people interested in switching, but no one is interested in starting out fresh.. please help me :-)

    Does woltlabb have a -> phpbb migration script? Cause that'd be the easiest way to do it at the moment...

    Yeah, it's not ideal but people have done it.

    alright - checked it out. there's no phpBB converter for wBB 2.x - they talk about something that should be compatible but for one, everyone says its not working and apart from that I cant find it anywhere. anyone willing to help with this one? would it be possible to adapt the vB converter?

    If you can hook me up with the wbb database structure i'll have a think about it.

    would it be OK to send you a dump via PM / email? the dump would be of the version I'm using but not include any data other than what's available right after the install.

    that's cause you are interpreting stuff into it - stuff I'm not talking about :P We kept it on a purely professional level, but you had to go down the hershey road.

    Anything accomplished yet? I am planning a major redesign of a project and would like to switch from woltlab to vanilla. So a converter for users and threads would be fine.

    Sorry to say I've not even looked at this. I got a bit over excited by my panel re-order project but next on my list is to check out the wildthing migrator and try and write some classes for it. I'll keep you posted as and when i make any progress but if anyone else wants to take it on in the meantime theyre more than welcome.
