getting fatal error PHPMailer::ThrowExceptions()

I'm getting:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method PHPMailer::ThrowExceptions() in /library/core/class.email.php on line 255.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using Version 2.1.3
