Problem with adding a user

edited July 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
First, let me say that I am running Vanilla 1 locally on my computer for testing and development. When I add a new user, the form gets filled out correctly with the appropriate message showing. Then when I log in as admin, I see the new applicant message in the sidebar. When I click on the user message, I get the user information displayed and the oprions to approve or decline. When I click on Approve, I get an error about not being able to send an email (because I don't have an email service running). So, is the email required in order to add the user?

  • Your server will need sendmail installed to be able to send emails using phps standard function. If it's not installed you could input your smtp settings (assuming you know them) and it should be able to send emails that way.
  • Thank you. I configured the settings to use another mail server and it worked. Is there an easy way to list your users when you log in as admin? I didn't see anything.
  • only to run a blank search for users.
  • Thank you again. That's really simple.
