white screen trying to install

Hello, i have used vanilla forums before in a earlier project, I chose to use it with my newest project, so i downloaded the zip file and extracted it and uploaded it to my web server. when i goto my website it has just a white a screen with no install screen. I racked my brain trying to figure it out last night with no success. has anyone ever ran into this problem before, i am using media temple grid for my hosting and there is no other files in the directory.

Disregard my thread it was a problem with my hosting. I have it cleared up and working now. Sorry
