Minor navigation issue

edited July 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
When you click on a discussion item that has new comments you haven't viewed, it takes you to where you left off in reading the comments to where the new comments are. Can this feature be added to the discussion list such that when you return to the discussions, you are positioned at the discussion item you just choose?

  • I dont see why not, I think all you'd need is an anchor adding to each discussion on the list and then just reference that anchor in the back to discussions list. It's up to mark whether it goes in the core though.
  • Yeah, I wish it would go back to the discussion you had just read as well.
  • I finally realized that this only happens when I use FF. When I use IE6 to access the Vanilla site and pick a Discussion topic way down the page, and return, it does return to that point down the page. Does anyone know what FF setting needs to be changed?

I don't think there is a setting. It's the browser. The way FF handles the back button is different to IE's.
  • Thanks. I did look at all the options and didn't see anything.
