Where is "'Vanilla 1.0 is a product of Lussumo..."

After discussing the issue of counting stats in my Vanilla forum, the StatCounter support told the best place to insert the javascript, was to put it directly after: 'Vanilla 1.0 is a product of Lussumo. More Information: Documentation, Community Support." This appears in the side bar, but I can't for the life of me find the file that contains this. Can anyone guide me to it.

    vanilla>languages>English>definitions.php at the end.

I think if you do it this way, any updates will erase this change.
  • By updates, do you mean when Vanilla is beyong 1.0? I don't mind reinserting the code, but is there a place to put it that will not get erased, but that will work?
  • Someone has got to know where I can plug this little piece of js to get stats on forum hits. Would bribes be appropriate at this point?

    Alison,
Duplicate the English folder (inside languages folder) and name the copy alisons_language (or similar)

Make the changes to the definitions.php file in your alisons_language folder.

Go to your Settings and change the language to alisons_language.

That should do the trick and keep it safe from being over-written by updates.
  • OK! So, where do I send the donuts??? Bless you! I'll be back to report.
  • YES!!! Thank you. Worked like a charm. :D
  • Alison,

I created an extension for you:

    Statcounter 1.0
  • Wow, JP. That's fabulous. Thank you so much!
  • For the record, small language changes should be made as follows: http://lussumo.com/docs/doku.php?id=vanilla:faq_9

Minisweeper, that's fine but I can't get to anything in my conf folder:

    /httpdocs/forum/conf/language.php: Permission denied
  • You need to see if you have the permissions to chmod it (try 777 for a start). Assuming apache has taken ownership of the files (seems most likely) you'd really need to contact your host to get ownership back.
  • Gosh, it's great when the host is your husband. So accessible!
  • what ever you do ... DO NOT put stat counting code into the dictionary file simply open up the THEMES folder, copy the VANILLA folder inside it and rename it MY NEW THEME (or whatever) Then copy the page.end.php or foot.php files into your new folder Add your code to one of these (I think foot.php is best) and then save upload this whole directory to your themes folder on your server then go to your settings panel, change themes and APPLY TO ALL USERS This is a far better and more robust way to add tracking codes
