i get a similar problem tonight :( http://www.love2escape.com/chat/ ie A fatal, non-recoverable error has occurred Technical information (for support personel): Error Message The connection to the database failed: Affected Elements MySQL.OpenConnection(); The error occurred on or near: Too many connections For additional support documentation, visit the Lussumo Documentation website at: lussumo.com/docs note - i have had 2 previous database probs in recent months with my host......eventually they got things working. I have 2 other databases that work 2 other sections on my site...they are both down as well. So tis obviosuly a database issue across the entire site. And my host informs me in the last hour that the page loads for them fine; and there is no problem. grrrrr. note - the error re too many connections...i have about 4 regulars on my chat site.

That's ridiculous. I'm not 100% sure about this, but it could be that mysql is getting nailed on one of the other sites on your shared server (not run or managed by you).

Mark, thanks for the reply. The whole thing is getting me down, big time. I have three databases on my website. one is for www.love2escape.com (joomla) a second runs www.love2escape.com/multitrackers (my blog) and my third and final database is for www.love2escape.com/chat (ie vanilla) the multitrackers section of the website has been up, down and now up again today. But the other two database driven urls, have been down for the past 12 hours. But my host maintains that my site is fine. :(

after i complained some more last night to technical support, they replied today still claiming that "Your site is working properly" I mentioned today in reply, that the problem might be possibly linked to some other person on the shared server screwing it up for me (and everyone else). re mysql getting nailed I have also asked them to forward contact details of their chief executive. I do not like to be told, repeatedly, that my site is working fine, when most evidently it is not.
