Profile Picture 500 internal Server error

When I try to upload a picture they get 500 internal server error.
I have looked at folder permission and user permissions. I don't know what else to do
-This happens to anyone trying to upload a profile picture-

hey @nmanclank check your php logs, must be some php settings limitation or permissions on some location. You can also try a standalone upload script and see if it's throwing the same errors.
best look at your server log to see if you can get the error.
grep is your friend.
