Hide or delete Text and BBCode radio buttons

edited July 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Anyone know how to do this? We'd always like Html to be selected as the user's default format of their comments. And eliminating the option of choosing Text or BBCode would make their confusion vanish and their experience all the better. We need the BBCode extension to still be installed and work, but hiding that button, along with the Text one, would make our lives easier.

  • Looks like Mark already thought about this. There's an option in user preferences to "Show the comment format type selector when adding comments". And when disabled it seems it automatically selects Html as the formatting. But, is there a way than I can have "Show the comment format type selector when adding comments" automatically and default-ally deselected?
  • Just noticed that logged out users will still have the option to choose BBCode or Text because we have the extension to show the login fields above the comment form. So I guess we really do have to find a way to hide the Text and BBCode radio boxes at all times and ensure that Html appears and is selected. Is this possible? Anyone?
  • You could use css to hide the "Text" radio button, and some javascript to make sure "HTML" is always selected?
