295 email registered users. Wahoo! But wait............
I don't know if I have yet another out of the box vanillaforum bug (just battled through Facebook and recaptcha login bugs) or what.
I now have 295 users email verified and authorized members, yet no post or comments are even lurking activity. View counts
are not changing anywhere. Can't imagine someone bothering to fill out the registration form without even viewing one post.
I had one person report that he could not find a way to start a decision or add a comment, but I have logged on with another computer
through both a facebook account and the other registration method and was able to post.
Would some folks on here try to login to my forum and see if you can see the new discussion button and reply box?

Looks like you have register approval set.
I've just signed up as Vanillatest, but you'll need to approve me from the Applicants in the Dashboard.
OK, signed in now.
Are you sure you have given members the correct permissions?
Default Category Permissions for Comments and Discussions needs to be ticked.
Atm I can't comment or start a discussion.
I just approved you. Do you get an email after I approve you? I might need to change the wording of the first email to include mention of the approval process.
OK Got approval.
Signed in and creating a discussion seems to work.

as does posting comments

Your listed as a member and this is the member role. I left it as is.
Perhaps the user hadn't followed the link to confirm their email address?
If that is the case, they will be able to log in to your forum, but won't have member permissions.
With the approval method, they don't come up for approval until they email verify.
Are you able to post now?
Got the comment on the site.
Did you get a second email after I approved you? Wondering if they get contacted at all after becoming a full member.
We seem to be in a bit of a time loop!
I'm posting one step ahead!
In that case, I am worried that I am just getting hit with login bots. Just can't imagine people
bothering to register without even looking at a single post.
You probably are.
Since you are using Register Approval, I would recommend using:
http://vanillaforums.org/addon/registrationrestrictlogger-plugin
which helps greatly, and also
http://vanillaforums.org/addon/addregistrationquestion-plugin
This allows you to add a question to the registration form.
Pick any question that likely users of your forum would know the answer to.
I use those, and in combination they have stopped all spam bot attempts to join the forum.
Thank you for the time.
No problem.
