Add-on Suggestion: Text size changer

edited July 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
So the user could change the font size of threads if the needed/wanted to.

  • You know you can do that in your browser, right?
  • Not in IE. :-/
  • I think it might be a good accessibility add-on for people with vision problems. Maybe add a couple of buttons with increasing and decreasing font sizes which would change the css.
  • I dunno what browsers you guys are using but IE 6 and FF 1.5 have options to increase or decrease text sizes? I can see how it could be a useful addon but if there are people out there with vision problems they should really have their browser set up right or most the sites on the web would be inaccessible to them...
  • While it's certainly possible to change the size of every font in your browser, I think that what gasface was asking about was something to just change the fonts in Vanilla. I wouldn't mind this myself--the thread titles in some styles are much too large. =o)
  • Edit those styles to fit your dreams. :)
  • oh right, like phaded said.. like espn uses.. you cange the font size on that story.. anyway, its no big deal.. my forum has a mix of younger and much older people, so i thought an option for the old folk would be cool
  • The "texte size" option doesn't work work when the font size is in px. I don't know how many people with vision problem know the other way to change the style in IE.
If you want to make your forum more accessible you can create a style with font-size in em or %.
  • "Edit those styles to fit your dreams. :)" Right, but MY dreams might not line up with the dreams of everyone else on my board. I personally don't mind bigger titles, but I have a few users who do, and I'd like to give them the opportunity to change the size if they want.
