I think it depends on the client. I've been doing some outsourced work for an average web design firm in Georgia where I charge a flat rate. I get about $170 per a single .PSD file usually with zero or one very small revision (i.e. making the logo bigger). If I charged per hour I wouldn't be making as much because I spend about an hour to an hour and a half on a design, it's not bad work I just don't put much thought into it - just pretty design.
  • well, apart from the prizing itself which is hardly international, since our german prizes are generally lower than in the usa and so on, what time do you spend on building a simple web site? i mean... how many hours do you need/take for lets say the layout itself, cms integration and so on? i read about 2-3 hours per content page, which is imho fine. but what about the rest? i'd really like to have some values to compare with, so i can calculate in a realistic way :-)
  • I spend around 5-8 on the design, 5 to integrate it into my template systemm and a few extra here and there for special requests and additional changes. The design takes the longest for me. I think I'm just a perfectionist.
  • *nod* The design always takes the longest.
  • hmmm... sounds familiar to me, it's the time i usually need too.
