Ability to export authentication system

edited July 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I would like to be able to have authentication handled outside of Vanilla without having to edit Vanilla's source code. The way I see this working is that the extension would contain a config file in which the user would have to implement the typical authentication functions, ex. logon, logoff, and access level, but the extension itself would take care of having those functions in the correct places.

Vanilla already has this functionality. You can either use Vanilla's "People" authentication tools: http://lussumo.com/docs/doku.php?id=vanilla:faq_16 Or you can use your own and just tell Vanilla how to integrate with it: http://lussumo.com/swell/42/Data-Objects--External-Application-Integration/
  • Yeah, same as before; I've already read the article, and it's clear that Vanilla will do everything I need it to if I'm diligent with the config files. I can't wait to get started!
