Total Noob needs serious help

Hi guys, I am fairly new to the internet design game and I am totally unfamiliar with php and how to make sure I have php 4.1 and the required mysql version. Anyone care to walk me through the whole process of installing a vanilla forum or direct me to the proper discussion outlining this?

    What really bugs me about this is that the documentation you linked is outdated - it's for Vanilla 0.9.2.x

    BUT, I WROTE the Vanilla 1 documentation and I KNOW it was up there. So wtf happened? Did I dream it. Am I that far gone?
