Me idiot. You help?

I am going to feel so foolish when this is answered. But here goes. On my installation in "http://user.local/filebrowser/index.php", the Filebrowser app only views the contents of its own folder. Can I navigate up a level? I wouldn't want to place all the files loose in my root, so ...uh ... can someone enlighten me about what I am missing? edit: I am running PHP Version 5.0.4 (www.entropy.ch Release) on OS X 10.4.5.

  • You cant navigate up levels above/below (depending how you think about it) the filebrowser root.

You can't go higher than the level that filebrowser is at. Eg

If you have http://localhost/random/monkey/cheese/ and filebrowser is in cheese. You can't use filebrowser to see what's in monkey.

    I hope that helps.

edit: Of course mini puts it much more succintly. However, I did involve animals and dairy products.
  • Right. So just to be clear - place the files loose in your top level directory?

Yeah. The reason I don't allow the Filebrowser to look in it's parent directories is because then people could navigate your entire filesystem and see things they shouldn't.
  • Not allowing people to see things is why I've renamed the main file so that only I know the address.
  • Thanks for the quick replies.
