Mirroring a site. Literally.

This really does deserve to belong in random. I hope this question doesn't confuse people.

Basically.

I have a site http://sitea.com I also have http://siteb.com

I want to mirror sitea.com. This in itself is simple as hell. It's a few clicks on Dreamhost. However, if people go to siteb.com I want them to see the site as if it really was a mirror. Basically, everything round the wrong way. Image flipped, text flipped etc. Does anybody know of a way I could do this?

It's stupid I know but so's the site I'm mirroring. Would also be fun just to see what people say :D

Like this - http://www.alltooflat.com/geeky/elgoog/m/index.cgi no idea, besides just recoding it. in there FAQ it says the code isn't available either.
  • Ha, c-unit, very clever! But notice that the Google logo is real mirror reversed (presumably because it's a graphic) but the text is just backwards. And it is easier to read the logo than the text, which says something about our brains (or my brain!) but I'm not sure what..
  • c-unit: That's pretty much exactly what I want. Shame it's not open source. At least I now know it's possible.

ercatli: If I can find something that gets past that then I'm onto a winner :D
  • For 1st April 2006, my friend decided to add "position: rtl;" to the style sheet of its forum. Textareas were so weird that he didn't wait till noon to remove it! :-) Was fun anyway.

For other parts of the site like images you'll have to mirror them. I hope PHP/GD(2) have a simple way of doing it. Otherwise you can do it locally with image tool software like IrfanView in batch mode.
    For video content: VirtualDub?
For Flash content, no easy solution or perhaps adding an AS on top of everything could be sufficient?
Don't forget to reverse sounds if you've any on your site (playing sounds reverse is the weirdest of all I think)
  • Felipe; I think you've got the better idea. Awesome.
Seeing as it's a netlabel site and I could get a new domain to complete the mirror effect...
Will take some work but I think it's worth it.

    Especially the audio fuckery :D

    bambambambambam becomes madmadmadamdmad I suppose.
