Unable to update to 2.2

I am currently using 2.1.11and I downloaded 2.2 file, uploaded it to the server and extracted it overwriting all other. When I went to yourforum.com/utility/update
I got this error

Failure
The update was not successful.

I refreshed so many times but got the same error.
