is there any small php\mysql application\script that acts like (google\excel) spreadsheet what I am alooking for user is able to create two columns, input into colums small cross-table no fancy formating (bold, italics would be nice but noit necessary) for what use? personal cash outflows. date, $ some tables. like costs for car by months. Web applications are great, but I want to store and edit data on *my* (virtual) server

  • why do you need to store the data on your own server? Surely an appliction such as DabbleDB would meet your requirements better?

I can't find again a strange app I installed a while ago (a standalone app reinventing the wheel with Delphi instead of using XUL or sth like that).
BTW, I found 4 or 5 "spreadsheet web2.0" apps via Google but this french site is far more extensive: http://blogmarks.net/marks/tag/tableur
'tableur' is the french for 'spreadsheet'. BTW http://blogmarks.net/marks/tag/spreadsheet has different results, what a mess. If you need french to english translation of a few sentences, just ask me (for one sentence, Google should be faster of course)
EDIT: WikiCalc seems to suit your needs, I wonder if the syntax is simple or tricky. If you find a lin to it, I'd be interested into seeing it.

EDIT2: OOo Calc + Base + scripting also.
  • bigshow a) I dont trust small web companies, they just might close their doors after a year or two. b) I dont want to install anything on my PC
  • fair enough, in that case, I can't think of anything that fits your requirements, sorry

AOL announced free 5G @ Xdrive, pretty good deal. Imagine when "save as" will mean that the browser will transfer files or mp3 music you selected not to your harddrive but to another webserver. This thing is the closest but it is so <strike>bloated</strike>. Still, nice graphs. I might test. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Spreadsheet edit: I accidentally clicked on Simple Groupware screenshots as I was looking for Spreadsheet.
