Hide discussion content but show titles and category to limited user types

I have a similar request as this:

I am looking for a way to show private categories and private discussion titles and redirect to the signup page. Is there a good plugin or addon to be able to do this easily? I would also like to hide member names in the post display unless the user is logged in and has permission to view.

I'm sure there is, but I have no time to investigate that further now, sorry.

If you have questions concerning a special plugin, you should use the "Ask a question" link on the plugins page. That way other users looking at the plugin might benefit from your question and the plugin author (who in most cases will be the best one to answer questions) will be notified.
