How To Edit Footer?

Hi,

Great theme! However, I'm having trouble editing the footer to fit my information that is needed to be placed such as the e-mail, phone # etc...

It says I don't have permission to edit this (I'm using Text Edit) on a Mac.

You need a real code editor, the Text Edit on the mac is not appropriate and it will insert unwanted stuff and render your tpl file useless.

Please try http://www.sublimetext.com/2 or something similar to edit your files.

    Thank You! :)

  • Sorry to trouble you guys with this (again), I got one more question and thought it would be more appropriate to post it on the same thread (so it won't look bad for the Developer) since it is a noob question.

Take a look at this screenshot, I cannot see the tools that are meant to be above the comment box (e.g Bold, Emoticons etc...)

And last question - how do I change the background color of the Forum?

    Thanks! :)

Really appreciate y'alls help (sorry I'm a beginner at using Vanilla)... I really appreciate your guys patience with me.

What editor are you using ? It helps best to make a test account for us and give us the login info via pm , so we can inspect the code. It is hard to see what is going on from an image.

Also , please post the images here. Paste bin is not forever and if someone else asks the same question about the theme, it would be more helpful to have the image posted here so they can see it too and confirm that is the same problem they have.

The issue could be the color, or js problem, or anything… hard to say without looking at the site.

how do I change the background color of the Forum?

You need to edit the custom.css file from your theme. http://www.w3schools.com/css/

Also get to know the dev tools like web inspector for your browser to help you find the elements you want to change.

Add the plugin CSSEdit to be able to add the css code on the fly in the dashboard instead of editing the file itself.

Thanks! I'd imagine that it is the color that is not allowing the tools to show above the comment box, I'll let you guys know once I fix the issue and how I solved it as well :). Cheers!
