Embed Google maps in posts

Hi, I know the code has been taken out to embed in Vanilla but is there a way to add a Google map to a post? I could not find a plugin to do this.

I suppose you could add it via a plugin. target the particular discussion number and use something similar to the signature plugin. or someone may know of another plugin that can insert things in a discussion and check for discussion or comment id. Maybe a pocket. Sounds very trivial if you know php and have the time.

You can try and use my google earth plugin , but google stopped supporting the google earth browser plugin so it does not work except for Safari .

You can't embed an iframe or object or embed because that is controlled by htmlawed plugin. I know it sucks and makes it less fun and that is why people use facebook and youtube ...

You can't embed anything in vanilla without a plugin like Mediator to parse the url for the content and display it.

It just is not safe.

But I am an admin and I know the content is safe !! Vanilla does not care if you are the Pope... it is to protect from hackers and exploits that would majorly fuck up your website...

but you can make it unsafe if you really want to by editing the allowed html inside the hmlawed plugin...

A plugin can append to a discussion, comment or just after after the formatting take place. and not be subject to the rules of htmlawed. and be restricted to admin.

Similar to the way advertisements are used - you just can't insert it via the normal post methods without making things insecure.

so it could be safe if the admin didn't occur self - harm.

What a pain. Is it possible to add a pocket to single thread?

You can add a goggle map or anything in a message from the dashboard, in a pocket, in a module. You can't add it inside a discussion...
