Is there any way to stop SSO methods from changing the usernames? [probably answered before?]

Multiple searches in the community and I can't find anything about this. I'd like to make it so that your current forum username doesn't get changed when you sign in with G+, FB, or Twitter. Is there a way to do this? One guy even deleted the Vanilla app from his G+ account, and it still keeps getting changed back (I'm wondering if clearing cookies will help this though).
